Holidays at Roda Golf and Beach Resort

Flights / Car Hire

Flights
Roda Golf & Beach Resort is located 10 minutes from Murcia (St Javier) airport (though well away from the flight path)
and under 1 hour from Alicante airport.

A number of airlines fly into the area, unfortunately not all to Murcia, these include:

   BMIBaby
   Aer Lingus
   Easyjet
   Flybe
   First Choice
   Jet2
   Monarch
   Ryanair
   ThomsonFly

Also take a look at Skyscanner which will compare some, but not all, airlines and show you the latest offer price.

Car Hire
The resort is a 10 minute taxi drive from San Javier Airport, so Car Hire isn't essential.
BUT ... we do advise it as it is a 20-30 minute walk to the nearest beach and to the bars and restaurants in Los Alcázares. It will make life easier and allow you to get out and about to see the beautiful countryside of Murcia, and play those other courses.

We are not affiliated with either of these companies but have used them ourselves: CarJet    Easy Rent
We have not used either of these companies
but they have been used by guests and
found to offer good service.
Argus Car Hire    IberCar

Ibercar are a direct rental company. The rest are "brokers" and negotiate deals with all the actual rental companies
and offer some great savings rather than going direct.
They offer competitive prices, but it is worth trying them all as one can be cheaper than others at different times.
However, some of the rental companies used now offer extra insurance for damaged wheels,
which has been a major problem in Spain over the last few years as people are taking cars off-road.
Cars can usually be collected at one airport and returned to another at no extra charge.

There are also companies locally who will deliver and collect from the resort, including Ibercar.

No Cars ?
You may have heard that there was a shortage of cars for hire and that it was expensive in Summer 2009.
Yes - there were fewer cars available due to the credit crunch.
Yes - some of the companies took advantage of this to put up their prices.

Prices have gone up in comparison with 3 years ago but you can still find reasonable deals if you are prepared to search around
Just check out all four of our links. There are loads more too - just Google

However, to avoid disappointment, we advise that you book your car at the same time as you book your flight.
You are unlikely to be able to turn up at either airport and just find a car to hire in 2010!
